Soho furniture store to close on January 1

The Soho Furniture & Equip store in Hobart has confirmed it will close its doors on January 25.

The store is closing because of a financial issue.

“It’s not just about the store, it’s about the business itself,” co-owner Scott Moore told news.com, “the community and the employees that work there are so important to the business, that’s why we’re doing this now.”

Moore said the closure would mean the loss of around 30 jobs, but said they are hopeful to reopen sometime in the summer.

“We are looking to reopen this summer, and we are hoping to get the business back on track,” he said.

He added that the store had never had an employee in the store’s entire history.

The former furniture store is now run by co-owners Chris Boulton and Pauline Beaudoin.

Moore said he and Beaudouins partner have worked to save the store from closure.

The news comes as Soho is facing criticism from the business community after a number of staff have been laid off. “

But we’re really, really disappointed that we can’t be in the business right now.”
